Description

Mr. Hamad Hamad is the Executive Director and CEO of Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC), which is the apex body of the private sector in Zanzibar. In this position, he is a link that connects the Board of Directors, Management, members and the rest of Chamber's stakeholders, including, and especially the Government and development partners. With a background in public service, Hamad has a good blend of practical understanding of Public-Private Partnership frameworks (PPP) and Public-Private Dialogues (PPD). He is a member and co-chair of the steering committee of Zanzibar National Business Council (ZNBC) where he coordinates the private sector members in, as well as spearheads and moderate dialogues between the government and specific sectors in the private sector. Having spent more than 8 years in Europe, Hamad has a wide connection with Zanzibari Diaspora networks, especially in the Scandinavia and Western Europe, who are potential players in transforming Zanzibar’s and Tanzania’s economy through direct investment, transfer of knowledge and technology as well as branding the country in their countries of residence. Hamad holds Masters degree in Development and International Relations from Aalborg University Denmark, and Masters in Leadership and Organization from Malmo University, Sweden. He also pursued his bachelor degree in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.
